Privacy Policy

Effective June 20, 2026 · Last updated June 20, 2026

The short version: Trail Pals does not collect any personal information from you or your child. There are no accounts, no third-party advertising, no analytics, and no tracking. Everything the app does stays on your device.

Trail Pals ("the app") is a nature app for children ages 2–5, published by SC-ience Labs ("we," "us," "our"). We built it to be a calm, private place to play, and we designed it from the start to collect as little as possible — which turns out to be nothing at all. This policy explains what that means.

Information we collect

None. Trail Pals does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information. Specifically:

Where your child's activity lives

Anything the app remembers — collected friend cards, progress, settings, and whether the optional unlock has been purchased — is stored only on your device. It never leaves the device, and we never see it. If you delete the app, that information is removed with it.

Children's privacy (COPPA & the Kids Category)

Trail Pals is designed for young children and is listed in the App Store Kids Category. Because the app collects no personal information, there is nothing to disclose to, or request consent for, under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or similar laws such as the GDPR-K. The app contains no social features, no user-to-user communication, and no open web browsing.

Purchases

Trail Pals is free to play. It offers a single optional one-time in-app purchase that unlocks bonus songs and facts. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and are placed behind a parental gate. We never see or store your payment information — that is managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Third parties

The app makes no network requests to our servers and includes no third-party advertising or analytics code. The only third party involved is Apple, solely for delivering the app and processing the optional purchase, as described above.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above before the change takes effect. Because the app is offline and collects nothing, we expect changes to be rare.
